For Humanities, we read the Omnivore's Dilemma, learned about the Human Food Chain system, and created our own booths to show what we have learned.
Human Food Chain System
We read part of the Omnivore's Dilemma and learned how screwed up and processed every single thing is. I recommend this book to anyone who wants to become educated and make a change.
For our booth, we compared organic orange juice to Simply Orange juice to see which was chosen first and if the advertising and labeling on the bottle had anything to do with people's view on it, and if it was true. We had to find information on Simply Orange and the real truth behind the bottle. We made fresh squeezed orange juice with organic local oranges we got from one of our group member's backyard, and used an electric juicer. We also explained why their labeling and advertising is incorrect, and how they make products look more appealing and useful than they actually are. Long story short, ours tasted better, and everyone agreed with that statement. You can view the documents below to see our poster that was made for our booth and more information on Simply Orange.
